Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the listed buildings are given a new future and holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the foundation Vacation in architectural monument (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.

Parking: The public car park is about 100m from the house. The car park is not covered. Access to the house is guaranteed. 

Public transport: Bus 4 direction Castasegna, Vecchia Dogana. Get off at the bus stop Punt Spizarun and reach the Cäsa Picenoni Cief in five minutes.

Number of persons 9: A baby cot (up to 2 years) is available. The house can accommodate nine guests (plus baby). There are four double rooms and one single room. On the ground floor is the entrance area and a lounge with a fireplace. The kitchen and a large living/dining room are on the 1st floor. On the 2nd floor there are three bedrooms and a bathroom, and on the 3rd floor there are two rooms, a living room with balcony plus a toilet. The floors are made of wood and stone, which is why we recommend good slippers.

Garden:
The house is located directly on the village square of Bondo and does not have its own garden. However, there are countless opportunities to explore nature around Bondo.

IMPORTANT ADDITION
The Cäsa Picenoni Cief is a listed building that has been renovated with great respect for the existing fabric. The tenant is aware of this and treats the property with care. Although the technical equipment is up to date, certain functional details do not meet current standards and are a potential source of danger. The tenant is aware of these circumstances. The owner, e-domizil and the foundation Vacation in architectural monument disclaim any liability.

    “Das Haus ist weit mehr als ein "Ferien"haus - es ermöglicht eine Zeitreise in das geschichtsträchtige Bergell. Positiv: Ein Wohnhaus wie aus vergangen Tagen, in dem wir uns sofort heimisch gefühlt haben. Nach der freundlichen Begrüßung durch den Hausherren verbrachten wir eine wunderbare natur- und geschichtsverbundene Zeit im herbstlichen Bergell. Alles im Haus war bestens vorbereitet und bis ins kleinste Küchenutensil vorhanden. Restaurant: Crotto Quartino - authentische, bodenständige Küche Ausflüge: Via Bregaglia - Klassische Wanderrourte durchs Bergell.”

    “Unkompliziert, alles! Wir kommen wieder. Positiv: Grosse Räume, Waschmaschine, Arvenstube.
    Gleich am Platz in Bondo, wo man sich trifft und auch einkaufen kann. Restaurant: Bei Donato Salis vis a vis. - Stühle und Tische auf dem Dorfplatz, kleines Restaurant. Ausflüge: Sentiero Panoramico - Schöner Höhenwanderweg, in Etappen machbar.”

    “Schöner Aufenthalt in einem historischen Bijou. Positiv: Die Lage ist natürlich ein Genuss. Besonders zu erwähnen sind die freundlichen Bergeller, die sich auf dem Platz für ein (evtl. zwei) Bier treffen.
    Besonderen Dank gilt auch dem hilfsbereiten Chef des Hauses David Wille, der die Ristoranti bis ennet der Grenze kennt. Negativ: Dazu fällt mir nichts ein. Ausflüge: Firma Soglio in castasegna - Laden und Betriebsbesichtigung der Bekannten Natürlichen Seifenmarke”
